Publish your website
Put your website live on the internet, update it safely with drafts, share it, and undo changes you don't want.
Your website has two versions:
- Draft: what you see in the editor. Every change you make, by chat or by hand, lands here first. Only you and your team can see it.
- Live: what your visitors see. It only changes when you click Publish.
This means you can try things out without anyone seeing half-finished work.
Publishing needs a paid plan. On the Free Plan you can build and preview your website, and publish as soon as you upgrade. See Plans & pricing.
#Publish for the first time
Open the editor
From the dashboard, click Edit Website in the sidebar (or Open editor on your website's card).
Click Publish
The Publish button is at the top-right of the editor. It opens the publish panel. Nothing goes live yet.
Check your address
Every website gets a free address like yourbusiness.inminutes.app, shown under Website URL. To change it, click the pencil (Change address), type a new name, and InMinutes checks that it's free.
Click Publish in the panel
Your website goes live. When it's done you'll see Your website is live, with buttons to copy the link and share it.
#Publish changes
After you change something, the publish panel shows Unpublished changes. Your visitors still see the old version. Click Publish again whenever you're ready, and you'll see Your changes are live.
The status in the publish panel tells you where you are:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Not published | The website has never been published. Nobody can see it yet. |
| Published | The live website matches your draft. |
| Unpublished changes | You've made changes that aren't live yet. |
Some things only reach your live website when you publish, like connecting Google Analytics, a tracking pixel or a live-chat widget. After connecting one, publish once more.
#Throw away a draft
Don't like your latest changes? Open the publish panel, click the ⋯ menu and choose Discard draft. Your draft goes back to exactly what's live now.
Discarding can't be undone. Every unpublished change is removed.
#Share your website
From the publish panel's ⋯ menu you can:
- Copy live link to paste it anywhere.
- Open live site in a new tab.
- Get a Website QR code, and download or share it. Print it on flyers, menus or your shop window.
- Connect a custom domain, so your website lives at your own address like
www.yourbusiness.com. See Connect a domain.
After your first publish, you also get quick buttons to share on X, Facebook, LinkedIn and WhatsApp.
#Change your website's address
Your free address is something.inminutes.app. To change the something part, open the publish panel and click the pencil next to your address (Change address). Use lowercase letters, numbers and dashes. If the name is taken, InMinutes tells you to try another one.
If you already shared your old address, update your links: the old address stops working once you change it.
