Build your website
Edit with chat
Change your website by describing what you want. Learn how the chat works, how to write good requests, and everything else it can do for your business.
The chat in the editor is like having a web designer on call. You describe the change in your own words, and the AI updates your website. You don't need to know anything about design or code.
#Make a change
Describe what you want
Type your request in the message box at the bottom of the chat and press Enter. For example: "Add a section with our three most popular services and their prices."
Answer any questions
If the AI needs more detail, it asks. Often it gives you options to pick from, so you can answer with one click. You can also type your own answer in Something else….
Approve the change
Before changing your website, the chat shows a card that sums up what it's about to do and roughly how many credits it will use (for example ≈ 50 tokens). Click Approve to go ahead, or Cancel.
Check the result
You can watch the progress while the AI works. When it's done, the preview updates and the chat shows Updated your site, with the credits used and how long it took. Look at the preview on desktop and mobile.
Publish when you're happy
Changes go into your draft. Your visitors see them after you publish.
If a change fails, your credits are returned automatically and the chat tells you. See Credits & usage.
#What you can ask for
Pretty much anything about how your website looks and what it says:
| Kind of change | Example request |
|---|---|
| Words | "Rewrite the homepage headline to be shorter and more exciting." |
| Look and feel | "Make the whole site feel warmer and more welcoming." |
| Colors and fonts | "Use our brand green #2F7D5B for buttons and headings." |
| Sections | "Add an FAQ section with the 5 questions customers ask most." |
| New pages | "Add a page for wedding packages with three price options." |
| Images | "Replace the hero photo with the image I attached." |
| Features | "Let customers book appointments online." |
Not sure where to start? Click the magnifier in the message box to browse ready-made prompts, grouped by Design, Hero, Sections, Pages, Features, Content, Conversion and SEO.
#Write requests that work
The clearer your request, the better the result. Say what to change, where it is, and how it should end up.
- Be specific. "Make the About page text shorter, about half the length, and keep the part about our family history" works better than "improve the About page".
- Say where. Mention the page and section: "On the Contact page, under the map…". Or point at it with visual edits: select an area, and your message applies to just that part.
- One idea at a time for big changes. Adding a page and redesigning the menu are two requests. Small tweaks can go together in one message.
- Share real details. Your real prices, opening hours and services make a much better website than placeholders.
- Describe the feeling. Words like premium, playful, calm, bold or minimal are great design instructions.
#Point at the exact spot
Click the pointer button in the message box, then click any part of your website in the preview. The message box shows Selected: … and your next request applies to that area only, for example "Make this button bigger and change the text to Book now." See Visual edits.
#Attach files and images
Click + in the message box to attach:
- Photos: your logo, your team, your products or your space. Ask the AI to use them, like "Use this photo in the About section."
- Documents: a menu, a price list, a flyer or a spreadsheet. The AI reads them and can turn them into pages, like "Create a menu page from this PDF."
You can also pick a file you uploaded before. See Media library.
#Speak instead of typing
Click the sound-wave button and speak: your words appear in the message box as you talk. Click it again to stop, check the text, then send. This uses your browser's voice typing, so it works in browsers that support it, such as Chrome and Safari.
#More than design: run your business from the chat
The chat can also help with the rest of your business. Ask it to:
- Set up features: a booking page, an online store, a contact page or a blog.
- Connect apps: it opens a guided card for things like Stripe or Google Calendar. You never paste passwords or secret keys into the chat.
- Find and connect a domain: search for a web address and connect it.
- Manage your store: add, update or remove products, and update order fulfillment.
- Manage bookings: create, move or cancel appointments, and block out days off.
- Write content: draft and publish blog posts, and draft and send email campaigns.
- Publish your website when you're ready.
Anything that changes your website or your business data shows an approval card first. Nothing happens until you click Approve.
Some of these need a specific plan. For example, the store, campaigns and customer accounts need Pro. The chat tells you if something isn't included in your plan. See Plans & pricing.
#Chat history
Every conversation about your website is saved. Click the clock icon at the top of the chat to open an earlier one, or New to start fresh. Starting a new chat doesn't undo anything on your website.
