SEO & AI search

Help customers find your business on Google and in AI answers from ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. Meta tags, sitemap, Search Console and AI-search tools, explained simply.

SEO (search engine optimization) means making your website easy for Google to understand, so it can show your business to people searching for what you offer. AI search (also called GEO) does the same for AI assistants like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, which now answer many questions directly.

InMinutes handles the basics for you. Every website is built with clear page titles, descriptions, a sitemap and business details that search engines understand. The SEO/GEO page lets you check and fine-tune them.

#Meta tags

Meta tags are the title and short description Google shows in search results, and the preview people see when your link is shared on social media.

  1. Open the Meta Tags tab and choose the Page you want to edit.
  2. Write a title (for example Home | Luna Bakery — Fresh Bread in Austin) and a description (one or two sentences about what the page offers).
  3. Optionally, fine-tune how the page looks when shared: Open Graph (Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp…) and Twitter / X Cards, including a title, description and image.
  4. Robots controls whether search engines may show the page. Leave it on for pages you want customers to find.

Good titles say what you do and where: "Emergency Plumber in Leeds | Smith & Sons" beats "Home". Keep titles under about 60 characters and descriptions under about 155.

#Sitemap

A sitemap is a list of your website's pages that helps Google find all of them. InMinutes creates it automatically.

On the Sitemap tab you'll see your Auto-detected Pages, with a switch to Include or leave out each one. Under Custom URLs you can add extra pages, like /menu.

#Google Search Console

Google Search Console is Google's free tool that shows how your website appears in Google search. Connecting it tells Google your website exists and lets you see which searches bring visitors.

Open the Search Console tab (you'll find the same steps under Connectors & Apps → Google Search Console):

  1. Get your verification tag: copy it from the tab. InMinutes adds it to your website automatically.
  2. Publish your site so the tag goes live.
  3. Verify in Google Search Console: open Search Console, add your website and click Verify.
  4. Submit your sitemap: paste your sitemap address (shown on the tab) into Search Console.

#AI Search (GEO)

Pro The AI Search (GEO) tab helps AI assistants understand, trust and mention your business.

#AI search readiness

A checklist of what AI assistants look for on your website, with a score like 5 of 6 passing. It checks things like your llms.txt, page descriptions, clear headings, image descriptions, contact details and an FAQ, and tells you what's missing so you can fix it. Publish your website first so it can be checked.

#llms.txt

llms.txt is a short plain-text summary of your business at the root of your website (for example yourbusiness.com/llms.txt), written for AI crawlers. InMinutes creates it for you from your business details. Click Copy to see or share it.

AI assistants love clear questions and answers. Add the questions customers really ask, like "Do you take walk-ins?" or "How much does a haircut cost?", with short, factual answers.

  • Click Add question to write your own (up to 20).
  • Or click Generate with AI to get a first draft, then review and edit it. This uses a few credits.
  • Click Save FAQ, then republish your website.

Your FAQ is added to your website in a format search engines and AI assistants can read, and to your llms.txt.

#Content gaps

The Content Gap tab lists open tasks: information that's missing from your website and that would help AI assistants recommend you. Tick them off by adding the content, for example with the editor chat.

Coming soon: prompt-level monitoring of how often ChatGPT Search, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews mention your business. The Prompts, Responses, Citations and Heatmap tabs fill in when it launches.

#Everyday tips to rank better

  • Be specific about where you are. Mention your city and neighborhood on your pages.
  • Keep your business details the same everywhere: name, address and phone should match your website, Google Business Profile and directories.
  • Add real reviews and photos. They build trust with people and search engines.
  • Write regularly. A blog with helpful local posts gives Google more reasons to show you.
  • Check your analytics to see what's working.
