Credits & usage
Credits (also called tokens) pay for the AI work on your website. Learn what uses them, how many you get, and what happens when you run out.
InMinutes uses credits to measure AI work. Each time the AI builds your website or makes a change to it, it uses some credits. Every plan includes credits, and paid plans get a fresh allowance every month.
You'll see both words in the app: credits and tokens. They mean the same thing.
#How many credits you get

Monthly credits don't roll over: on the 1st, your allowance resets to your plan's amount. Credits you buy are different: they never expire. See Buy extra credits.

#Building a website
When you build a new website, InMinutes first sets aside credits for it: about 110 credits per page you ask for. When the build finishes, you're charged for what the build really used, and anything unused goes back to your balance. If you don't have enough credits for the build, InMinutes tells you before it starts.
#Changing your website
When you ask for a change in the chat, the AI tells you roughly how many credits it will use (for example ≈ 50 tokens) before it starts. After the change, the chat shows what it really used, like Updated your site · 45 tokens · 38s.
Bigger changes use more credits. As a rough guide:
- Small: rewording text or changing a color.
- Medium: redesigning or adding a section.
- Large: adding a whole new page. Asking for several new pages at once uses credits for each page.
Group small tweaks into one message, like "Change the phone number to 555-0100, make the button green and fix the typo in the About heading." It's usually cheaper than three separate requests.
#If a change fails
If the AI can't finish a change, your credits are returned and the chat says so. You're never charged for a change that didn't happen.
#Check your balance
Click your name at the bottom-left of the dashboard. The Credits card shows:
- AI credits: how many you've used out of your total this month.
- Websites: how many websites you have.
- Extra credits: credits you bought, if any.
- When your credits renew (or "Free plan · one-time allowance" on the Free Plan).
You can also see your usage on the billing page: Settings → Plans & billing.
#When you run out
- Your live website keeps working. Running out of credits never takes your site down or changes it.
- You can't ask the AI for new changes until your credits refill on the 1st, or until you buy more.
- You can still edit text and images yourself with visual edits, which don't use credits.
- On the Free Plan, you'll be asked to choose a paid plan.
#Buy extra credits
On a paid plan you can top up at any time from Settings → Plans & billing:

Extra credits are added as soon as the payment goes through. They're added on top of your plan's credits and never expire.
