Visual edits
Click on any part of your website to change its text, images and style yourself. Instant, precise and free, with no credits used.
Visual edits let you change your website by pointing and clicking, like editing a document. It's the fastest way to fix a typo, swap a photo or adjust a color, and it doesn't use any credits.
#Turn on visual edits
In the editor, click the pointer button in the chat's message box. It changes to Edit, and the message box says Select an area on the preview…
Now move your mouse over the preview: each part of the page is outlined as you hover. Click the pointer button again to turn visual edits off.
#Change text
Click any heading, paragraph or button label, and start typing. The text changes right on the page. Click somewhere else (or press Esc) when you're done.
#Style an element
When you select something, the Element properties panel opens with the options that fit what you picked:
- Text: bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, uppercase, size, weight, color, highlight, alignment, line height and letter spacing.
- Image: replace the image, choose how it fills its space (Fit) and round its Corners.
- Link: change where a button or link goes.
- Layout: adjust the space inside (Padding) and around (Margin) the element, its Width and Max width, and the Gap between items.
Changed your mind about one element? Use the reset button in the panel to discard every edit on that element. You can also hide an element so it doesn't appear on your published website.
#Undo and redo
Use the Undo and Redo arrows at the top of the preview, or press ⌘ Z and ⇧ ⌘ Z (Ctrl Z and Ctrl Shift Z on Windows).
To see everything you've changed on the current page, open Edits on this page. From there you can revert a single element.
#Ask the AI about the selected area
Visual edits and the chat work together. After you select an area, the message box shows Selected: … and says Describe the change for this selected area… Type a request and the AI changes only that part, for example:
- "Turn this into three columns with icons."
- "Make this section's background dark green."
- "Rewrite this paragraph to sound more friendly."
This does use credits, like any other chat request.

#Good to know
- Visual edits go into your draft, just like chat changes. Publish to make them live.
- If you later ask the AI to redesign an area you edited by hand, the AI's new version takes over there.
