Sell digital products with Paddle — tax and VAT handled for you
Connect Paddle to sell courses, downloads, templates and software. Paddle is the merchant of record, so it works out and pays sales tax and VAT in every country. Checkout opens on your own site and orders land in Store → Orders.
In this InMinutes update
If you sell digital products, you can now take payments with Paddle, next to Stripe and PayPal.
Why Paddle
Paddle is a merchant of record: it sells to your customer on your behalf, charges them, works out and pays sales tax and VAT in every country, and pays you out. You never have to register for VAT abroad. Paddle charges 5% + 50¢ per sale. InMinutes still takes 0%.
How it works
- Go to Connectors & Apps → Paddle, paste your API key and client-side token, and click Connect. We set up Paddle's order notifications in your account for you.
- Republish your site. Paddle's checkout then opens right on your website.
- Paid orders show up in Store → Orders with the amount the customer actually paid, tax included.
- Refund from the order in your dashboard. Paddle reviews live refunds before the money goes back.
Digital goods only
Paddle accepts courses, downloads, templates, e-books and apps. It doesn't accept physical goods or in-person services, so keep Stripe or PayPal for those.
Full setup steps are in Stripe, PayPal & Paddle.
